The Wonderful World of April. Part 3

Someone planted a seed part 3

Well, I was out walking and thinking about mindfulness and being mindful. We spoke about this in our circle a few weeks ago and we pondered on the addition of the letters ‘ness’ when it comes to the word mindful. Is there a difference and if so what exactly is it? (Rhetorical question)

On my ‘mindful’ walk to the lovely gardens down the road (I say ‘down the road’ but it’s actually a 2 mile wander to get there) I was reflecting on my own ways of practicing mindfulness (and yes, I have got the candles/ guided meditations and breathing apps etc) but also thinking how being present and in the moment is also being mindful (are you fed up with the word mindful yet?!!)

I was pondering about how doing things that we enjoy and when we really pay attention to whatever that thing is also mindfulness but we don’t always see it as that (confused yet??)

Then the word resilience popped into my butterfly thought process … isn’t mindfulness also supporting resilience?
When we do something we find joy in (walking/reading/ appreciating a tiny lentil (lentils…that’s for another time) ) Are we not strengthening our resilience?
By being in that moment fully and completely we are safe and we are knowing (Oh dear… I’m not sure this even makes sense to anyone else!) and by being in that place we are strong which helps our resilience.

( reader don’t move…Peanut is giving me his best sad cat eyes and also looking at the treat cupboard…)

I’m back, so yes, this was my thought of the day and if you’ve taken the time to read this and spend even just 2 minutes of your day thinking about it then well done… you’ve just been mindful… or was it a little bit of mindfulness? You decide.
